I wrote this story as a response to the prompt: My Biggest Secret: Stories We Keep Hidden and performed it live on stage at Joe’s Pub on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. Just 8 days shy of our 32nd wedding anniversary, it was the only time I’d spoken publicly about the sudden, unanticipated loss of my beloved husband.
I’ve never done anything like this, and it was among the biggest leaps of faith I have ever taken. I thank the Universe for Grace, and the sisters who surround me so that even when I leap, I never fall.
